Craftsmanship Meets Dedication

I was born and raised in Walla Walla, WA and started my Carpentry career here, where I built houses for 4 years before joining the Air Force in 1993 as an Air Traffic Controller, with a Yokota AFB, Japan deployment.

After the Air Force, I continued in the construction field, eventually moving to San Francisco for a music career as a drummer. While trying to become a bonified "rock star", I fed this dream by continuing to work as a carpenter, building up my experience in the remodeling world, renovating older Victorian homes all throughout the Bay Area for almost 10 years. This included building custom furniture, storage, cabinets etc., and my career in high detail, intricate detail work really took off.

After the rock star dream fizzled out, I moved back to Washington and became a Police Officer with the City of Pasco and have been an Officer since 2006. Although this is my dream job realized, I still had the passion and desire to build and create, and because of this, I continued to do woodworking side jobs by word of mouth mostly, building furniture, decks, tables, shelving, etc.

In 2022, I decided to take my woodworking to the next level and started Copenter Jones Woodworking LLC (Cop + Carpenter = Copenter). I even created and incorporated a cool logo with the letters "CJ" surrounded by the shape of a Police Badge. I took this opportunity to upgrade my workspace, which consisted of the small bay in our garage, and built myself my dream wood working shop, which included all of the necessary tool upgrades as well. This upgrade in shop space and power tool availability has given me the ability to build and create things for clients I could only dream of only 4 years ago.

I look forward to meeting new clients and making their woodworking projects a reality. I strive for perfection and I'm a stickler for details. I pride myself and good and open communication with clients to produce the desired outcome, exactly as the project was envisioned. I build everything to last a lifetime by using good, quality wood products. This is something you cannot get at stores anymore as most items are mass produced and made from faux wood such as compressed fiber board or even paper, with cheap veneers and finishes. You will not find that here.

Although I still love the name Copenter Jones, it created confusion and the false notion that a carpenter doesn't even know how to spell the word….. "carpenter." So, to alleviate this, I remain Copenter Jones Custom Woodworking LLC but have changed my DBA (Doing Business As) to "Jones Custom Woodwork" and all advertisements and social media will refer to this new name.
